"Mamallena is a nice hostel, very economic. There's a kitchen and a large fridge and freezer to store food. Lockers to lock your stuff. There's an air conditioner in the room, which is turned on at night. The shower I used was pretty spacious and nice. Close to metro station. Close to mini-markets. About five to ten minutes from a big supermarket. Staff is very friendly and helpful, people in the hostel were pretty social and friendly. 24 hour reception."

"Maybe some new pots and pans can be bought. It was possible to cook without problems, but some pots don't have lids, some pans don't have handles, etc."

"Great stay! Clean facilities and bathrooms. I loved the rescued dogs and cats around—such a nice touch. You get exactly what you pay for, it’s a hostel after all. Would totally again !"

"Comfortable beds, good common areas, and at night the air conditioning is effective. The wifi is fast, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is ok, but it's close to some good cheap food options (try the pizza place on the main street $3 for a personal pizza and a drink), and it's not far from the metro station. They even have a swimming pool here which I didn't use, but the other guests raved about it!"

"Panama City is a hot, humid city, and during the day the air conditioning is switched off, as is common in many hostels. This was no problem, as I am aware of how budget accommodation functions - but just be aware of it when booking. Some of the other guests were a little noisy at night, but it wasn't a major issue (and not the responsibility of the hostel). The area between the metro station and the hostel is a little unsafe at night - I didn't have a problem, but just be aware of that... perhaps take an Uber at night to be careful."

"Very clean. Private rooms, showers and toilets very clean. Fresh linen, and quite ok location. Wish it offered breakfast or something more, loved the pool. We enjoy our stay every much!"
