"La habitación con ventana tenía una vista magnífica del río y de la orilla contraria, incluida la Stadhus. Gamla Stan está muy cerca. Se puede caminar con facilidad a muchos puntos de interés. Conviene tener en cuenta que el camarote es de verdad pequeño, como se indica en la descripción. También que es un barco pequeño y se puede sentir el movimiento del oleaje, que la mayor parte del tiempo es ligero. Vale la pena totalmente pagar el desayuno ofrecido por el hotel."

Se escuchan los pasos y voces cuando otros huéspedes pasean por el balcón. Afortunadamente no hubo este problema durante la noche, solo en el día. El baño del camarote contiguo está pegado a la habitación y se escucha con claridad cuando se hace uso de él.

"A unique experience you will always remember. The private boat tour to the cabin with our guide Thomas was amazing. The view and serenity are second to none. The cabin is modern and clean. The bed is comfy. Temperature was great. The included food was delicious and so much."

Remember you are in a very fancy tent on the glacier lagoon rather than a hotel room :) All very clearly communicated so no surprise, but beware that the toilet is a fraction of an airplane toilet with no real door, there is no shower, and you need to be super careful with everything.

"A different place to stay. A wood cabin but with all facilities such as fridge, single ring cooker, air conditioning, huge varanda with room for a dining table and chairs plus recliner chairs and a washing rack. Wonderful views of the Duero river. Pick up the train (one kilometre walk away) to Pinhao - 30 minute journey along the edge of the river-for food shopping and long, lazy lunches or to Porto for a day out. Rail fares in Portugal are very cheap and half price if over 65!"

"The Sailboat Ragamuffin is a unique experience. You are staying in a sailboat moored off of Water Island, where your hosts live after sailing the Caribbean for 30 years. They are a font of information and anecdotes about the US virgin islands and others. Jo is an accomplished chef and strives to give you the food types you desire. They pick you up by dinghy on the Crown Marina dock, and will take you by dinghy over to Water Island. In my case, I had two berths (bedrooms and bathrooms) on the boat, rocked to sleep by the rolling of the boat on the water. Don't miss going to water island, golf cart to Limestone Beach (coral reef) and Honeymoon Beach (the latter has turtles swimming around)"

The listing didn't make it quite clear what the accommodation would be - it described an apartment and a pool view. I thought it might be a houseboat on a dock. The pool view is the sea around the boat!

"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."
