This is a new concept. A few teething issues to sort. Breakfast took a long time. They should also make you aware in advance about cruise timings as it means the boat is unaccessible. This is OK providing your planning an evening out somewhere anyway. Evening cruise from 8pm to 11pm in our case

"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."

"A unique experience you will always remember. The private boat tour to the cabin with our guide Thomas was amazing. The view and serenity are second to none. The cabin is modern and clean. The bed is comfy. Temperature was great. The included food was delicious and so much."

Remember you are in a very fancy tent on the glacier lagoon rather than a hotel room :) All very clearly communicated so no surprise, but beware that the toilet is a fraction of an airplane toilet with no real door, there is no shower, and you need to be super careful with everything.

"Una gran experiencia en un bote antiguo pero con todas las comodidades y muy bien mantenido,el desayuno es delicioso y muy variado y todos el personal es muy amable,la ubicación aunque un poco lejos de Budapest para nosotros fue perfecta,con un coche no hay ningún problema y puedes recorrer paisajes increíbles en el trayecto. La vista es majestuosa"

Un mantenimiento a las cerraduras de las puertas pero es algo insignificante todo muy bien!!

"El desayuno excelente. Las camas muy rústicas pero firmes, por lo que dormimos muy bien la primera noche que llegamos a europa. El lugar donde está súper bien ubicado y la vista al Danubio y al ovni muy bonitas"

El lugar muy pero muy simple. El baño pequeño pero al saber que es un barco ya lo sabíamos. La regadera hay que maniobrarla porque no cae muy bien el agua. En general muy simple y pequeño todo. No sé me hizo tan económico, pagué 92 euros. Pero si volvería por las cosas que me gustaron.
